Granice (German Schmachtenhagen ) is a place in the rural community Maszewo in Powiat Krośnieński in the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . In 2008, 89 people lived there.

history

The place was probably given as Suhnowe (possibly also Sichnowe or Sithnowe ) by Duke Konrad I of Glogau to the Cistercian monastery Leubus in 1259 and was then in its possession until 1530. In the 15th century he was mentioned as Schmechtenhayn .

In 1806 he was in the Crossenschen district in Neumark in Brandenburg and had 169 inhabitants. Before 1914, the Waldsee settlement was founded in the area around the village. Schmachtenhagen was the seat of an administrative district. In 1939 there were 220 inhabitants.

In 1945 the place came under Polish administration and was named Granice .
