Granvin
Granvin is a place and a former municipality in the Norwegian Fylke Hordaland (became part of Vestland in 2020 ). As part of the municipal reform in Norway , Granvin and Voss were merged to form a new Heradskommune Voss on January 1, 2020 .
937 inhabitants lived in the municipality on an area of 211 km² (as of January 1, 2019). The municipality number was 1234. The last mayor was Olav Seim ( Sp ).
The municipality bordered in the north on the municipality Voss, in the east on Ulvik , in the south on Ullensvang and in the west on Kvam . The administrative center was also called Granvin. Since Eide was the largest settlement in the municipality, the terms Eide and Granvin were sometimes used synonymously. The commune was in the Hardanger countryside . The highest elevation in the area of Granvin reached 1690 moh.
Granvin was 1891 Heradskommune, to be the region of Ulvik heradskommune was spun off. The first name was Graven heradskommune , in 1898 this name was changed to Granvin.
