Gray Sargent
Gray Sargent (born June 10, 1953 in Attleboro , Massachusetts ) is an American jazz guitarist who has emerged mainly in the field of mainstream jazz .
Live and act
Sargent, who comes from a musical family, had piano lessons from the age of seven; at the age of eleven he discovered the guitar. Between 1975 and 1985 he was part of the Illinois Jacquet combo , in whose big band he appeared from 1990 onwards. He also played with Ruby Braff and George Wein's Newport All-Stars . His collaboration with Dave McKenna and Scott Hamilton attracted more attention . In 1993 he presented his own album on Concord Records ; he was also one of the Concord All Stars . Since 1998 he has accompanied Tony Bennett. He can also be heard on albums by Ralph Sharon , Herb Pomeroy , Cyndi Lauper , Bruce Abbott , John Travolta and Amy Winehouse .
