Grazia Di Michele (born October 9, 1955 in Rome ) is an Italian cantautrice .

Life

In the 1970s, Di Michele founded the music group Ape Di Vetro with Clelia Lamorgese and Chiara Scott , with which she sang songs on political issues. In 1977 she appeared for the first time as a soloist in the folk studio . In the following year Vincenzo Micocci produced her first album Cliché with songs that were also characterized by social engagement. For her 1986 album Le ragazze di Gauguin she was awarded the Premio Vela d'Argento . With Lucio Fabbri , Vittorio Cosma and Eugenio Finardi , she recorded the album Grazia Di Michele in 1988 .

In 1990, she took along with Nicolette Larson with Io e mio padre at Sanremo Music Festival in 1990 in part, in the following year with Peppi Nocera and Se io fossi un uomo , the English translation ( If I Were in Your Shoes ) in Japan, Sweden, Norway and Switzerland was successful. In 1993 she recorded with Rossana Casale , Cristiano De André and Eugenio Finardi the track Gli amori diversi , which appeared on the album Confini . At the same time, Warner Music Vision released a DVD of their video clips, some of which Gabriele Salvatores had shot.

Her album Naturale with Luca Madonia was released on an independent label in 2001 . She toured Italy with Enrico Capuano and Toquinho . From 2003 she participated as a singing teacher in Maria De Filippi's casting show Amici on television. In 2005 she released the album Respiro entitled Habi , which tells the story of a young suicide bomber. At the Festival della Letteratura di Roma she presented the work in a theatrical concert with Sandra Cisneros and Susanna Tamaro . She was honored with a special mention at the Premio Lunezia in 1997 for the lyrics .

In 2008 she appeared at the theater in Denise Chalem's Di 'a mia figlia che vado in vacanza , directed by Maddalena Fallucchi . In 2009 she released the CD Passassgi segreti and contributed two songs to Alberto Zeppieri's Capo Verde, terra d'amore . The title Anja del settimo cielo from Passenger segreti was nominated for the Premio Amnesty Italia in 2010 .

She then worked on Paolo di Sabatino's album "Voices", received the Premio Culturale Mumi in 2011 and the Premio Cantagiro "Momenti musicali" in 2012 for her services to Italian music and the promotion of young talent . In 2014 in Alghero on Sarfinien she was awarded the Premio Giuni Russo . At the Festival di Sanremo 2015 she sang the title Io sono una finestra with Platinette .
