Maria De Filippi (born December 5, 1961 in Milan ) is an Italian television presenter . She has received numerous television awards for her popular programs, almost exclusively on private television.

Career

De Filippi grew up in Pavia , where she attended the humanistic grammar school and the university , from which she graduated with a law degree. Initially she worked for the legal department of a video production company in Milan, and from 1989 for a communication consultancy in Rome . During this time she met the journalist and presenter Maurizio Costanzo , whom she married in 1995.

Together with Alberto Silvestri, De Filippi developed the talk show Amici in 1992 , which she hosted on Canale 5 from the second season in 1993 onwards. From then on, she appeared more frequently as a presenter of her own television programs on Mediaset television, such as the dating show Uomini e donne or the docu-soap C'è posta per te . In 2001 she started the successful casting show Amici di Maria De Filippi (at that time still under the title Saranno famosi ). Other programs with De Filippi participation include the Music Summer Festival or the casting shows Italia's Got Talent and Tu Si Que Vales (each as a juror).

In 2009 the presenter worked for the first time at the Rai- produced Sanremo Festival as a com presenter, for the 2017 festival she was announced as the permanent com presenter Carlo Contis .
