Gregor Hildebrandt
Gregor Hildebrandt (* 1974 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe ) is a German artist .
Life
Gregor Hildebrandt was born in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe and grew up in Saarland . From 1995 he studied at the Mainz Art Academy with Friedemann Hahn , then from 1999 at the Berlin University of the Arts . Since 2015 he has been professor of painting and graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich .
Gregor Hildebrandt has lived in Berlin since 1998 . He lives with the artist Alicja Kwade in Berlin.

Hildebrandt's starting material is analog data carriers such as audio and video tapes, their housings or covers and records. With this material he creates collages, panel paintings, photographic works or installations. Processed tapes were previously recorded with selected music.
