Gregor Sarrazin

Gregor Ignatz Sarrazin (born March 13, 1857 in Graetz , Posen, † November 3, 1915 in Breslau ) was a German writer and English scholar .

Sarrazin studied German and modern languages in Leipzig , Breslau , Tübingen and Berlin . He completed his habilitation in Marburg in 1882 and became a private lecturer . After moving to Kiel University , he became professor of English language and literature there in 1889. Finally, in 1900, he moved to the University of Breslau.

Works

Sarrazin came out mainly through his preoccupation with the English legend literature . He also dealt with subjects related to William Shakespeare . He published the third expanded edition of the Shakespeare Lexicon and the Breslauer Contributions to the History of Literature together with his Breslau colleague Max Koch .
