Gregorius Friedrich von Schmalensee (* 1720 in Swedish Pomerania ; † July 29, 1783 in Swinoujscie ) was district administrator of the Usedom - Wollin district.

Life

Gregorius Friedrich von Schmalensee was the son of Cordt Friedrich von Schmalensee (~ 1686–1755), royal Swedish cavalry master and heir to Dönnie and Boltenhagen, and Magdalena Dorothea von Ferber. In 1735 he was enrolled at the University of Greifswald and in 1741 at the University of Halle , where he studied law for three years. Then he joined the Electoral Saxon Army, where he rose to the rank of Rittmeister .

In mid-1752 and in autumn 1753 he succeeded his father-in-law Erdmann Friedrich von Schwerin as district administrator for Usedom and Wollin. In the conduit list of 1770 he was grown as a function and his office was declared faultless. When he died in 1783 as a result of a stroke , he was district administrator and district director. His successor was Philipp Sigismund von Lepel .

Gregorius Friedrich von Schmalensee was married to Sophie Elisabeth Dorothea von Schwerin. With her father, the male line of the family von Schwerin died out in Stolpe on Usedom in 1753 . In the following year he acquired the Stolpe estate from his mother-in-law and her three daughters. In 1772 and 1774 he had to ask for a deferral of his debts, which amounted to around 30,000 thalers.

He had two sons, Cord Friedrich (* October 25, 1754 in Stolpe; † February 25, 1763 in Stolpe), Gregorius Gustav (* October 27, 1755 in Stolpe; † February 25, 1776 in Anklam) and two daughters. The elder Anna Sophia Bernhardina entered into a mesalliance . The younger daughter Philippina Helena Dorothea received the estate in 1785. She married Johann Friedrich Krauthoff from Mecklenburg . Your request for its ennoblement was rejected in 1785.
