José Luiz Ferreira Salles CSsR (born January 23, 1957 in Itirapina , São Paulo ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Pesqueira .

Life

José Luiz Ferreira Salles joined the Congregation of the Redemptorists in, put on 27 January 1985, the profession , and received on 14 December 1985, the priestly ordination .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on February 1, 2006 auxiliary bishop in Fortaleza and titular bishop of Tipasa in Numidia . The Archbishop of Fortaleza, José Antônio Aparecido Tosi Marques , donated him episcopal consecration on March 17th ; Co- consecrators were José Carlos de Oliveira CSsR, Archbishop of Rubiataba-Mozarlândia , and Sérgio da Rocha , Auxiliary Bishop in Fortaleza. As a motto he chose DEUS É AMOR .

On February 15, 2012, he was appointed Bishop of Pesqueira.
