Francisco Biasin

Francisco Biasin ( ita. : Francesco Biasin * 6. September 1943 in Arzercavalli , Terrassa Padovana , Province of Padua , Italy ) is an Italian priest and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Barra do Pirai Volta Redonda in Brazil.

Life

Francisco Biasin was ordained a priest for the diocese of Padua on April 20, 1968 . After years as a chaplain, he completed a priestly training course with the Focolare Movement in Frascati in 1972 and then went to Brazil as a Fidei Donum priest . From 1981 to 1990 he was cathedral pastor and vicar general in the diocese of Duque de Caxias , later he was diocesan administrator and vicar general in the diocese of Itaguaí . After his return to Italy, he headed the missions department in his home diocese.

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Pesqueira on July 23, 2003 . The Bishop of Caruaru , Bernardino Marchió , ordained him episcopal on October 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Antonio Mattiazzo , Archbishop ad personam of Padua , and Vital João Geraldo Wilderink OCarm , Former Bishop of Itaguaí . As a motto he chose AGENS EORUM VITAM PER FRATRES .

On June 8, 2011 he was welcomed by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed Bishop of Barra do Piraí-Volta Redonda and introduced to the office on August 28 of the same year.

On March 13, 2019, Pope Francis accepted Francisco Biasin's application for resignation for reasons of age.
