Giselle Loren Lazzarato Getty (* April 20, 1992 as Gregory Allan Lazzarato in Montreal , Québec , Canada ), better known as Gigi Gorgeous , is a Canadian internet celebrity , best known for her activity on YouTube and other social networks and her work as a model , important representative of the LGBTQ society and actress . She has a channel on YouTube with around 2.8 million subscribers. In 2010 she opened her own merch store. She is represented on MySpace , Facebook , Twitter and YouTube. She is transgender
Early life
Gigi was born on April 20, 1992 in Montreal , Québec , Canada and grew up in Mississauga . She is the daughter of David Lazzarato, Chairman of the Audit Committee at Yellow Média inc. , and Judith Lazzarato (née Belding), an investment advisor. Her family is of Italian and French origins and she grew up Catholic. She has two brothers, Adam and Cory Lazzarato. As a child, Gigi took part in high diving competitions. In 2006 her family moved to the Rosedale neighborhood in Toronto. She attended Iona Catholic Secondary School. She graduated from Etobicoke High School in 2010 and then attended George Brown College. There she studied fashion, but ended up dropping out to focus on her YouTube career. Gigi's mother died in February 2012.
Career
Shortly after registering on YouTube in 2008, Gigi (then: Gregory Gorgeous) quickly became popular and built a fan base. She produced videos about different things in her life as well as makeup tutorials. At the end of 2009 she and friends developed her own series entitled The Campus , which was published on her YouTube channel. The series consisted of a total of seven episodes. She has also appeared on TV several times at the MTV After Show Party . The first episode of their internet show The Avenue was released on January 25, 2011 and is available worldwide on YouTube.
In 2015 she had an appearance in Shane Dawson's short film I Hate Myselfie , where she was mentioned in the credits as Gigi Lazarrato.
