Fritz Greinecker Prize for moral courage

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fritz Greinecker Prize for civil courage ( Greinecker Seniorenpreis until 2007 ) is currently endowed with 6,000 euros and goes back to a foundation by Fritz Greinecker († 1997) from Vienna in 1985 (foundation capital 131,000 euros), which is administered by the ORF . The purpose of the foundation is to honor "either senior citizens who have become role models through their life and work" or "fellow human beings who have rendered services to senior citizens". A three-person jury assesses the submissions and nominates the winners. The award ceremony takes place in spring.
