Grigory Grigoryevich Myassoedov
Grigoriy Myasoyedov ( Russian Григорий Григорьевич Мясоедов ; born April 7, jul. / 19th April 1834 greg. In Pankowo , Oryol Governorate , † December 17 . Jul / thirtieth December 1911 . Greg at Poltava ) was a Russian painter and sculptor and one of the leading representatives of the Peredwischniki .
Mjassojedows was the son of a small country nobleman. He attended the Russian Art Academy in Saint Petersburg from 1853 to 1863 and then toured France and Germany , where he moved around the Düsseldorf Art Academy between 1863 and 1868 . He also went to Spain and Italy , but always kept his residence in Saint Petersburg. Myassoyedov spent his last days on his country estate near Poltava .
His best-known pictures relate to life in the country, such as The Diet Dines and The Mower .
