The Großadmiral von Tirpitz was a German fishing steamer that served as an outpost boat in the Imperial Navy during the First World War . The steamer was named after Grand Admiral Alfred von Tirpitz .
history
Apparently the boat was built on behalf of the Imperial Navy. The commissioning took place on February 20, 1917. The manning and armament are unknown. The steamer first served in the outpost flotilla of the North Sea , from 1918 in the escort flotilla / 10. Semi-flotilla. In 1919 it was apparently used as a minesweeper in the 4th M-Flotilla East / 8. Half-flotilla deployed. It is not known when this use ended.
On July 20, 1920, the boat was apparently spoiled by the British under the provisions of the Versailles Treaty . Since Great Britain apparently had no use for the ship, it was sold to Spain , where it was used as a fishing steamer under the name Carmen de C. In 1952 it was deleted from the register. The further whereabouts are unknown.
