The Great Bridge of Beijing ( Chinese  北京 特 大桥 , Pinyin Běijīng Tèdàqiáo ) is a 48.153 km long viaduct on the Beijing – Shanghai high-speed line . The precast bridge is one of the longest bridges in the world. The journey across the bridge takes approximately 20 minutes at normal operating speed.

The building starts about seven kilometers to the South Railway Station of Beijing in the district Fengtai south of the fourth ring road, crosses the district Daxing and ends in the province of Hebei in Langfang just before the train station. The girder bridge consists of prefabricated concrete parts except for the crossing of the Jingkai Expressway ( G45 motorway / G106 national road ), which is constructed with an arched bridge made of hollow steel box girders . The span of the cantilever arch bridge is 108 m. It crosses the six-lane highway and the two side streets, each with two lanes.

In contrast to a railway embankment , which takes up 28 hectares for one kilometer , the pillars of the bridge only take up half of the land, namely around 11 hectares. In addition, the prefabricated construction enabled faster construction progress compared to a classic railway embankment: after the piers had been built, the bridge girders, prefabricated in factories along the route, could be brought to the end of the bridge with a special vehicle, where they were placed on the piers by a special machine.
