Prince Johann Alois III. Anton zu Oettingen-Oettingen and Oettingen-Spielberg (born May 9, 1788 in Oettingen ; † May 7, 1855 in Munich ) was a German nobleman .

Life

Alois III. was the son of Prince Johann Alois II. Anton zu Oettingen-Oettingen and Oettingen-Spielberg (* 1758, † 1797) and Maria Aloysia Princess of Auersperg (* 1762; † 1825). He had five siblings and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church .

Alois was the Royal Bavarian Kronobrist Chamberlain and Major General.

In 1841 Alois III. zu Oettingen-Spielberg was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown .

Alois was a member of the state assemblies of the Kingdom of Württemberg from 1815 to 1819. From 1819/20 to 1843 he was a member of the Württemberg Chamber of Notaries , but was never present in person. Since 1819 he was also a hereditary member of the Chamber of Imperial Councils of the Crown of Bavaria .

Alois zu Oettingen-Spielberg married in Hochaltingen on August 31, 1813 Amalie Auguste von Wrede (born January 15, 1796 - September 11, 1871), the eldest daughter of the Bavarian field marshal Carl Philipp von Wrede . The marriage had four children:

  • Mathilde Sophie (born February 9, 1816 in Oettingen; † January 20, 1886 Obermais near Meran; buried in Regensburg), married in Oettingen on January 24, 1839, Maximilian Karl Fürst von Thurn und Taxis (born November 3, 1802 in Regensburg; † November 10, 1871 ibid)
  • Gustav Friedrich (born March 31, 1817 in Oettingen; July 21, 1864 in Regensburg; buried in Oettingen)
