The Great Momella Lake is the largest of the Momella Lakes in Tanzania's Arusha National Park . It is located in the northeast of the national park and is filled with water all year round. It was formed as a result of the last great eruption of Mount Meru about 6000 years ago.
It drains over a small river in the southeast to the Kikuletwa in the river system of the Pangani .
