Race start
Race winner Tazio Nuvolari

The Grand Prix de Tunisie took place on March 29th at the 12.715km Carthage Grand Prix Circuit .

run

After the Grand Prix de Pau, the Grand Prix convoy made a stop near the ancient city of Carthage for the fifth time . After the race was held on the Bardo Street Circuit in 1928 and 1929 , the Grand Prix de Tunisie has been driven on the Carthage Grand Prix Circuit since 1931. What was new this time, however, was that only drivers who were also registered for the Monaco Grand Prix were invited to this Grand Prix. In addition, there were also Formula Libre cars at the start without any technical changes to the cars or a separate rating.

While in Pau almost exclusively French pilots were at the start, the favored Italians were also registered in Tunisia, above all Tazio Nuvolari - but he only made it to 13th place in training.

After Louis Braillard took the lead for about half a lap after the start, he quickly lost it to Baconin Borzacchini . After only two laps, Tazio Nuvolari took the lead and defended it to the end. But the result was remarkably close - after about three and a half hours of racing time, the winner Novolari and second-placed Borzacchini were only 0.2 seconds apart.
