Guy minor
Guillaume Laurent "Guy" Moll (born May 28, 1910 , † August 15, 1934 near Pescara ) was an Algerian automobile racing driver .
Career
Guy Moll appeared like a comet in motorsport in the 1930s when he was just under 21. As early as 1933, due to his fearless driving style and his remarkable successes (including leading the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1933 in an Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 for a long time before failing due to a defective alternator), he fell to the then Alfa Romeo team boss Enzo Ferrari , who promptly brought the young Algerian into his Scuderia in 1934 . Moll now sat in the Alfa Romeo P3 and became team mate of Tazio Nuvolari , Achille Varzi and Louis Chiron .
At the Monaco Grand Prix in 1934 he celebrated a surprising victory, and the trade press was already cheering about a new star in motorsport. This was followed by a victory at the AVUS race in Berlin . The run of success seemed to continue in the next race. Moll resulted in wet and windy conditions, the Coppa Acerbo in 1934 before Mercedes-Benz - works driver Manfred von Brauchitsch at than when lapping of Ernst Henne (also on Mercedes) came to a momentous collision. Moll touched Henne's vehicle and sped into the lane. He died at the scene of the accident.
Enzo Ferrari said decades later of Guy Moll: "He could have become one of the greatest racing drivers in history if he hadn't been killed by a little carelessness."
