The Große Zeschsee is a 41 hectare lake in the southernmost tip of the municipality of the city of Zossen ( Teltow-Fläming district , Brandenburg ).
Geographical location and hydrographic conditions
The Große Zeschsee is located in the area of the Lindenbrück district of the city of Zossen or on the former boundary of the municipality of Zesch am See . The center of Zesch am See is located at the northeastern end of the lake and extends further along the eastern bank of the Kleiner Zeschsee . There is a public bathing area on the east bank. In addition, the lake can be used with small rowing boats.
The lake has an area of 41 ha, the lake level is on average 42.4 m above sea level. His max. Length is about 1250 m, its maximum width about 500 m. It is fed by springs and has a drain to the Kleiner Zeschsee.
Nature reserve Großer and Westufer Kleiner Zeschsee
The Große Zeschsee is located in the southern part of the 107 hectare nature reserve Großer and Westufer Kleiner Zeschsee . The nature reserve serves to preserve low and spring areas in the Nuthe - Notteniederung .
Attractions
On the southwestern bank, a memorial stone commemorates Friedrich Carl Leopold Graf zu Solms . A few meters away was his princely bathing place during his lifetime . A circular hiking trail leads from the center of Zesch am See over the Great and Small Zeschsee and past the monument.
