Wendelin Freienstein

Wendelin Freienstein (born July 18, 1909 in Gelsenkirchen , † July 19, 1973 in Düsseldorf ) was a German lawyer and administrative officer .

Life

Wendelin Freienstein was born on July 18, 1909 as the son of a bank director in Gelsenkirchen. After graduating from high school, he began studying law at the universities in Cologne and Bonn , which he completed with the first state examination in law. He graduated from 1932 to 1935 his clerkship at the District Court Brilon , the Essen District Court , the District Court Gelsenkirchen , the Hamm Court and in a Cologne law firm. After passing the Second State Examination in Law, he joined the civil service in 1935 as a court assessor at the Reich Justice Examination Office . In 1936 he received his doctorate with the dissertation Can the criminal liability of omission offenses also be traced back to the violation of moral obligations? to the doctor of law . He then worked as an assessor at the tax offices in Falkenstein and Plauen , before moving to the regional tax office in Leipzig in 1937 in the same position . From 1937 to 1938 he worked at the tax office in Aue and from 1938 to 1939 at the tax office in Bielefeld . Freienstein was appointed government councilor in 1939 and then worked as a teacher at the Reich Finance Schools in Feldkirch and Herrsching until 1945. In addition to his professional activity, he did military service from 1940 to 1945.

After the Second World War Freienstein returned to the administrative service. From 1946 to 1950 he headed the Soest tax office and then moved to the finance ministry of North Rhine-Westphalia as senior government councilor , where he was appointed government director in 1952 and Ministerialrat in 1953. From 1957 to 1958 he acted as director of the state finance school in North Rhine-Westphalia , based in Nordkirchen . He then moved back to the Ministry of Finance, from 1958 as a ministerial director and from 1959 until he entered temporary retirement on September 30, 1970 as State Secretary . He was also deputy chairman of the Foundation Council of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation . Wendelin Freienstein died on July 19, 1973 in Düsseldorf.

Freienstein was a member of the KDB Winfridia zu Bonn in the RKDB since 1928 , as well as a band philistine of other RKDB connections in Bonn and Düsseldorf.
