history

Großnöbach is mentioned for the first time in 972 as Neninpah . A church in the village is documented for the first time in the Konradin register from 1315. Until the 17th century, the area of the community Großnöbach belonged to the rule of Massenhausen . In the course of the formation of the community according to the second community edict, Großnöbach formed an independent rural community together with the districts of Weng, Gesseltshausen, Großeisenbach, Kleineisenbach, Kleinnöbach and Unterbruck. On January 1, 1971, the previously independent municipality of Jarzt was incorporated. On April 1, 1972, parts of the Lauterbach community were added.
