Great stone graves near Ermsleben

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The megalithic graves near Ermsleben were two Neolithic megalithic graves in Ermsleben , a district of the municipality of Falkenstein / Harz in the Harz district , Saxony-Anhalt . Both facilities were apparently destroyed after 1890. They were located between Ermsleben, Reinstedt and Aschersleben on a slight slope in an open field, about 300 m east of the map point 142.2 on the table sheet 2383. The existence of the graves was made known in 1947 by Fritz Klocke , who reported that a Dr. Mühlenberg had seen her personally between 1880 and 1890. At that time they served a tinker as an apartment. More precise information on the nature of the systems is not available. Also, no finds are known, so that an assignment to an archaeological culture is not possible.

Another destroyed stone grave and a menhir are known from Ermsleben , the nail stone from Ermsleben . In the case of the stone grave, the large stone grave of Sinsleben , which was discovered in 1831 and contained several vessels, including a cup from the Bernburg culture, it is not entirely clear whether it is a real large stone grave or a sub- or pseudo- megalithic tombs.
