The megalithic graves near Pehlitz were twelve megalithic graves, presumably from the Neolithic funnel beaker culture near Pehlitz , a part of the municipality of Chorin in the Barnim district ( Brandenburg ). They were destroyed in the 19th century.

location

The graves were on the top of the Koppelberg, northwest of Pehlitz.

description

Ernst Friedel (1837–1918) visited Pehlitz in 1874. He reports of twelve already destroyed graves made of large, square or circular stones. These had been blown up and used to build the farm buildings of the manor. Smaller stones were gathered in piles. Friedel found some ceramic shards, which he interpreted as Bronze Age , as well as scattered corpses . When the site was inspected later, no traces of the graves could be made out.
