Großwiesen is a district of the Röhrnbach market in the Freyung-Grafenau district . Großwiesen is located in the compartment about one kilometer east of Kumreut .

history

The property complex of the noble mansion of Großwiesen probably originated in the high Middle Ages. A Hademar de Uvisin (Wisin) is mentioned as early as 1200. Around 1260 an Ulricus de Wisen appears, whose court in Marchetsreut was not under the high bailiff of the Passau bishop. In the 14th century Ulrich des Ploch and his brothers and cousins had fiefdoms in Wiesen. At the end of the 14th century, the notorious robber baron Hans von Wisen sat here.

Since 1526 the small manor in the office Röhrnbach was in the hands of the Stör. On June 8, 1549 Bernhard Stör was enfeoffed with the Michelwiesen Hofmark . In addition to the 12 estates in Michel- and Großwiesen, a few other houses in other places belonged to his domain. In 1586 Großwiesen was run as a closed secular Hofmark, which meant that the subjects of foreign court lords residing in the Hofmark were also subject to the lord of the Hofmark.

After Johann Ferdinand Graf Kuen von Lichtenberg, Bavarian treasurer and keeper of Hengersberg , had acquired the Störschen property, the high estates fiefdom was transferred to him on May 23, 1690 with the associated rights. On April 16, 1694, Bishop Johann Philipp Graf von Lamberg bought the entire property from him , with the result that the Großwiesen Hofmark was also transferred to the Passau Monastery.

Großwiesen belonged to the municipality of Harsdorf after the dissolution of the Passau bishopric and the formation of the community in 1818. With effect from January 1, 1970, Großwiesen was reclassified into the municipality of Kumreut after the municipality of Harsdorf was dissolved. After its dissolution, Großwiesen came to Markt Röhrnbach on May 1, 1978 as part of the regional reform .
