Paul Praxl

Paul Praxl (born May 17, 1935 in Volary ) is a Bavarian historian, archivist and local researcher.

Praxl had to leave his home Wallern as a child and settled in Waldkirchen on the Bavarian side of the Bohemian Forest . He developed into an expert on the cross-border Mäumerweg, known as the Goldener Steig . In addition to his professional activity as archivist for the Freyung-Grafenau district , he made a contribution to the redesign of the Bohemian Forest Museum in Passau .

Awards

In 1977 Paul Praxl's work was honored with the Culture Prize of the City of Passau for the Bohemian Forests. On March 1, 2012, at the request of the government of Lower Bavaria, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on ribbon.
