Giant Cross

Outside Groom there is a 58 meter high free-standing cross, which is visible from afar due to its location and size. The base of the cross built by Steve Thomas in 1995 is designed with life-size stations of the cross. In Effingham , Illinois , there is a similar cross, eight feet taller than the one in Groom, modeled on it.

The crooked water tower

To the east of Groom there is a water tower leaning to one side on historic Route 66, which used to be in use and is now used for decoration. It is a popular motif for tourists.
