Grover Furr
Grover Carr Furr III (born April 3, 1944 in Washington, DC ) is an American literary scholar . He teaches at Montclair State University in Montclair (New Jersey) English literature of the Middle Ages .
Life
Grover Furr studied English at McGill University in Montreal and graduated in 1965 with a Bachelor of Arts . Since February 1970 he has been a professor at Montclair State University in New Jersey. In 1978 he received his PhD in comparative literature from Princeton University .
Positions
In his historical writings he defends Stalin's work . He sees the perpetrators of terror and human rights violations exclusively among Stalin's opponents, such as B. Trotsky and Bukharin . He denies the guilt of the Stalin government and the Soviet Union for the Katyn massacre of several thousand Poles, although this was admitted by the Soviet Union under Mikhail Gorbachev in 1990 and an apology was issued to Poland. Historians John Earl Haynes and Harvey Klehr criticized Furr as historical revisionists in the field of Soviet history.
