Waldemar Grube (born January 18, 1915 in Hamburg ; † October 26, 2001 ) was a German forester and entrepreneur . He was the founder of the Grube KG forest equipment office based in Bispingen-Hützel .

Life

Waldemar Grube, who came from an old forest family, was born on January 18, 1915 in Hamburg and grew up in the Lüneburg Heath . As a forestry student, he went to East Prussia in 1933 , where, after graduating from the Templin Forestry School, he worked as a district forester in the district of Mohrungen until 1945 . During his apprenticeship he had already developed a great interest in forestry work techniques and later also worked as a work teacher in forest worker training . Another field of activity that was important to him was to provide forest services and forest workers with suitable tools and equipment.

At the end of the Second World War , Grube lost his forest site and fled to his old home. In 1945 he founded "Revierförster Grubes Forstgerätestelle" in Bispingen-Hützel , which he expanded over the years to become the leading German supplier of equipment and machines for forestry and landscaping under the name "Grube KG Forstgerätestelle" . From the early 1960s onwards, the company gained national importance. In the early years Waldemar Grube not only sold tools from manufacturers he knew , but also developed a few himself, including sharpening clips and setting tools for the pull saws that were still in use at the time. Since the constant improvement and standardization of tools and machines was a constant concern of his, he also worked closely with the “ Kuratorium für Waldarbeit und Forsttechnik ” (KWF).

In 1951, Waldemar Grube also founded the journal Der Waldfacharbeiter , which was later continued by Euting-Verlag under the title Die Waldarbeit .

In 1983 and 1987, Grube KG acquired Forstkultur GmbH and David Dominicus. From 1988 onwards, further branches and subsidiaries were established, including in Austria , Poland and Scandinavia . However, the headquarters and central warehouse are still in the place where it was founded, Hützel.

Waldemar Grube, who had already handed over management to his son in 1985, died on October 26, 2001 at the age of 86.
