Grzegorz Śliwka (born April 19, 1982 in Cieszyn ) is a former Polish ski jumper .

Career

After the Polish team runner-up in 1997 and the team championship title in 1998, Śliwka was accepted into the B national squad and achieved five points in the first season in the ski jumping Continental Cup and thus 127th place in the overall standings. In 2000 he was nominated for an international tournament for the first time. At the Ski Flying World Championships 2000 in Vikersund , he was eliminated as 42nd after the first round.

After the World Cup, he joined the World Cup squad and reached seventh place with the team at the Team World Cup on March 4, 2000 in Lahti . At the individual World Cup in Oslo a week later, he missed the second round and thus also the points. After he did not win any points in the following individual World Cups, he was transferred again to the Continental Cup, where he achieved 93rd place in the overall standings after several placements among the top twenty. After a short, unsuccessful interlude in the World Cup in January 2002, he started again in the Continental Cup in February. After a good seventh place in Braunlage , however, he was no longer able to build on this performance and after several placements in the rear field only started in FIS competitions .

At the Winter Universiade 2003 in Tarvisio , he won the bronze medal in the team competition with Łukasz Kruczek and Krystian Długopolski before he completed his last international jumping in 2004 and ended his career in 2005 after another runner-up at the Polish team championship in 2004.

After the end of his career he became a coach at KS Wisła Ustronianka .
