Guaíba is a city with around 100,000 (2018 estimate) inhabitants in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil . It is located about 25 km west of Porto Alegre on the Rio Guaíba . Neighboring are the places Eldorado do Sul (NW), Barra do Ribeiro (S) and Mariana Pimentel (S). Originally Guaíba was part of the Porto Alegre municipality.
