Guangqi Honda Automobile , previously Guangzhou Honda Automobile , is an automobile manufacturer from Guangzhou , People's Republic of China . There is also the spelling GAC Honda Automobile .

Company history

There are different information on the date of foundation: 1997, May 13, 1998 or July 1, 1998. According to the company, the Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group held a 50% stake, Honda Jiyan Industry with 40% and Honda Jiyan Industry (China) Investment with the remaining 10 %. According to another source, the Guangzhou Group and Honda each held 50% of the shares. In November 1998 the production of automobiles began. The brand name is Honda, in the past possibly Guangzhou Honda . The name was changed in 2009.

Everus is another of the company's car brands launched in 2011.

Honda Automobile (China) was acquired on April 1, 2020 .

The first model was the Honda Accord . In April 2002 the Honda Odyssey added to the range. In September 2003 the Honda Fit was added. In March 2006, the Honda City replaced the Fit.

The following models are named for 2020: Accord, Avancier , Breeze , City, Crider , Crosstour , Fit, Odyssey and Vezel .
