Guazapa is a city and a municipality in El Salvador in Central America in the Tonacatepeque district of the San Salvador department and has 22,906 inhabitants (2007) on 63.65 km².
The city lies at an altitude of 414 m above sea level. NN in a distance of 20 km north of the state capital San Salvador . It is bordered to the north by Aguilares and Suchitoto ( Cuscatlán ), to the east by Suchitoto and San José Guayabal , to the south by Tonacatepeque and Apopa and to the west by Nejapa and Aguilares.
The most important natural phenomenon is the stratovolcano Cerro de Guazapa .
