Guide Rock is located in southeastern Webster County, Nebraska on Nebraska State Route 78 . The US Highway 136 leads about two kilometers north at the place over. The Republican River flows in the south.

history

Guide Rock was the first Webster County settlement on April 19, 1870. It got its name from a rock that served as a guide . The first post office opened in 1870, the first school on May 1, 1870. The place developed towards the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad arriving in 1880 . Guide Rock was officially registered as a site in 1883. With The Guide Rock Signal , the first weekly newspaper was founded in the same year. As agriculture continues to play a major role, the first grain processing company was founded in 1892. The Farmers' Union followed in 1915 .
