Guido Richter

Guido Paul Richter (born March 18, 1859 in Dresden ; † 1941 there ) was a German painter .

Life

Guido Richter, born in 1859, studied painting from 1880 to 1888 at the Royal Art Academy in Dresden under Leon Pohle and Theodor Grosse . After graduating, he took on a teaching position at the State School of Applied Arts in Lisbon . In 1893 Guido Richter returned to Germany, from 1901 to 1924 he taught at the Royal Saxon Cadet Corps in Dresden. Most recently he was in charge of the old Dresden art school for women and men , founded in 1896 . Guido Richter, who married Marie Therese born Leutritz in 1889, died in Dresden in 1941 at the age of 82.

Guido Richter's painterly work includes genre scenes and portraits , including the last king of the Kingdom of Saxony, Friedrich August III.
