Guido Veroi

Guido Veroi (born November 16, 1926 in Rome ; died January 16, 2013 there ) was an Italian sculptor , medalist , mosaic artist and glass painter .

Guido Veroi was a civil engineer and turned to sculpture at an early age, especially the art of medals.

Guido Veroi was trained as a medalist at the Scuola dell'Arte della Medaglia - Giuseppe Romagnoli of the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato , where Pietro Giampaoli was one of his teachers. Veroi often worked with Giampaoli afterwards. The Italian coin worth 500 lire from 1958, with the motif of the Tre Caravelle by Veroi and the bust of Giampaoli, is still considered one of the most beautiful Italian coins today. In addition to circulation coins and collector coins for Italy, Malta, San Marino and the Vatican, Veroi has made more than 100 medals and small sculptures. He was also active as a mosaic artist and glass painter and taught at the Scuola dell'Arte della Medaglia .
