Guillermo Abascal Pérez (born April 13, 1989 in Seville ) is a Spanish football coach and former football player .

Career

Born in Seville Abascal was footballer in the football youth academy La Masia of FC Barcelona . At the age of 19 he retired from football to pursue a career as a football coach. Abascal began his career with the youth teams of Sevilla FC . For the 2017/18 season he moved to the Swiss second division FC Chiasso in the Challenge League . After a good start to the season and the meanwhile 4th place in the table after the 8th matchday, some defeats and draws followed. After the 1: 6 defeat on the 26th match day against FC Vaduz and the 8th place in the table, Abascal has already been dismissed at FC Chiasso. A week later he was introduced as the new coach of FC Lugano in the highest Swiss league, the Super League , and thus as the successor to the dismissed Pierluigi Tami . In the eight remaining games of the 2017/18 season , he and his team scored three wins in two draws and three defeats.
