Dieter Schönberger (born November 15, 1972 in Dachau ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Schönberger began playing football at TSV Dachau and was signed up by FC Bayern Munich for its youth department at the age of 15 . After only one season for the B youth team , with which he won the championship alongside Markus Babbel , Max Eberl and Christian Nerlinger in 1989 , he then moved up to the second team and was used in the third-class amateur Oberliga Bayern .

In 1992 he was obliged by the second division team SpVgg Unterhaching , for whom he played five point games as a defender . He made his debut in paid football on July 21, 1992 (4th matchday) in the 4-0 defeat in the away game against MSV Duisburg .

The 1994/95 season he then played for SV Lohhof , who qualified from the Bayern League for the third-rate Regionalliga Süd and had to be relegated at the end of the season; Instead, Schönberger moved to Bundesliga club 1. FC Köln , where he was not used in the professional or amateur team in the 1996/97 season .

From 1997 to 2000 he played 76 games for the Sportfreunde Siegen in the Regionalliga West / Südwest and scored one goal.

From 2000 to 2002 he played 47 games for SC Fortuna Köln in the Regionalliga Nord . He then completed three seasons for TSV Eching in the Bavarian regional league before moving to Austria .

Towards the end of his career, he last played 18 point games from July 8 to November 29, 2005 for the second division promoted FC Kufstein and did not experience the relegation to the Regionalliga West .
