Guillermo Betancourt Scull (born July 19, 1963 ) is a retired Cuban fencer .

Guillermo Betancourt was world champion with the team in Budapest in 1991 . At the Pan American Games he won gold medals both individually and with the team in Indianapolis in 1987 and in Havana in 1991 . He took part in two Olympic Games : in 1980 in Moscow he took part in individual and team competitions with the foil and the epee. He finished the individual competitions in 32nd place with the foil and 37th with the sword. He was seventh with the foil team and tenth with the epee team. At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona he reached the quarter-finals in singles and finished the tournament in seventh place. With the Cuban team, after two victories in the preliminary round and two more successes against South Korea and Poland, he moved into the final, which ended 8: 8 against Germany . Due to the better hit ratio of 65:53, the German team was Olympic champion , while Betancourt won the silver medal together with Elvis Gregory , Tulio Díaz , Oscar García Pérez and Hermenegildo García .
