Elvis Gregory Gil (born May 18, 1971 in Havana ) is a former Cuban foil fencer .
successes
Elvis Gregory was world champion with the team in 1991 in Budapest and in 1995 in The Hague . He also achieved second place with her in Cape Town in 1997 and third in Nîmes in 2001 . He achieved his best individual performance in 1998 in La Chaux-de-Fonds with silver. At the Pan American Games he won the gold medal with the team in Indianapolis in 1987 , in Mar del Plata in 1995 and in Winnipeg in 1999 . In 1987 and 1999 he won silver and gold in 1995.
Gregory took part in the Olympic Games three times . In 1992 in Barcelona he reached the semi-finals of the individual competition. After beating Udo Wagner , he won bronze. With the team he moved into the final, in which the Cuban team lost to Germany . At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and at the 2000 in Sydney he was ninth in the individual. In the 1996 team competition, Cuba secured bronze after beating Austria . In 2000, the team with Gregory finished seventh.
