Gunter Spieß (born September 14, 1964 in Zwenkau ) is a German chess player .
Life
He learned to play chess at the age of 13. Until 2010 he played club chess in the 2nd Bundesliga East for SV Lok Leipzig-Mitte . Since 2010, he plays for the ESV nickel Aue , with whom he in the 2010/11 season in the 1. Bundesliga played and since the 2011/12 season again is active in the 2. Bundesliga.
successes
In November 2006 he won the 1st Open BSG Chemie Leipzig , in July 2008 the 2nd HEYFRA Cup in Helbra , in August 2008 the 1st TuS-Coswig-1920-Open in Moritzburg and in November 2008 the 25th open Döbelner Stadt -Individual Championship . In May 2009 he won the 16th VfB Leipzig Open and thus the Saxon individual championship. In addition, he won the Saxon rapid and blitz championships in the 2008/09 season .
Since November 2008 he has held the title of International Master . The norms for this were achieved at the 8th Individual European Championship in Dresden in 2007 , where he won a victory against grandmaster Dorian Rogozenco , among others , as well as draw games against Jan Smeets , Konstantine Schanawa and Ognjen Cvitan and in the 2007/08 season in the 2nd . Bundesliga East, including a win against Wolfgang Uhlmann .
