Dismissed as a State Councilor

On August 27, 2008 Bonz was put into temporary retirement after a 13-minute conversation with Mayor von Beust. While the Greens strictly rejected the construction in the election campaign, the CDU had always supported the settlement plans. The memo reached the press on August 14, 2008. However, Bonz did not see to it that the document was passed on, but according to information from the Abendblatt one or more CDU members of parliament, which is why the opposition factions in the citizenry also spoke of a “peasant sacrifice” and praised Bonz's high reputation as an economic state councilor. His successor was Carsten Frigge .
