The Gurkarpo Ri is located in a mountain range in the Central Himalayas southeast of the Langtang Khola river valley on the border between the Nepalese administrative zone Bagmati and the autonomous region of Tibet (China).

The 6889  m high mountain is located in the far east of the Langtang National Park . A mountain ridge leads southeast to the 6,979  m high Loenpo Gang . In the south the Langshisagletscher runs to the west. The Nyanang Phu Glacier flows in a south-easterly direction along the northeast flank of Gurkarpo Ri .

Ascent history

On November 1st, Paulo Grobel reached the summit together with Pierre-Oliver Dupuy, Marc Kia and Jean Francois Males - also over the southwest ridge.
