The Gurudongmar (formerly Gardomah ) is a mountain in the Himalayas in the northeast of Sikkim in India .
The Gurudongmar has a height of 6715 m . It is located in the west of the Dongkya group . On its eastern flank, the Gurudongmar Glacier flows north to Lake Gurudongmar , which lies in the headwaters of the Lachen Chu , the right headwaters of the Tista . In the south lies the headwaters of the Lachung Chu , the left headwaters of the Tista. To the west lies the 6630 m high west summit at a distance of 1.48 km and the Kangchengyao ( 6889 m ) at 4.55 km .
Ascent history
The Gurudongmar was first climbed in 1936 by Eric Shipton and EGH Kempson. However, there are doubts as to whether the two did not climb the lower west summit ( ⊙ ).
