Gury Schneider-Ludorff

Gury Schneider-Ludorff (* 1965 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German Protestant theologian and has been a professor of church and dogma history at the Augustana University in Neuendettelsau since 2005 .

Life

Schneider-Ludorff's father was a pastor, her mother a teacher. From 1986 to 1993 she studied Protestant theology in Frankfurt am Main , Rome and Heidelberg , and from 1990 to 1992 Diaconal Studies in Heidelberg. In 1999 she did her doctorate with Leonore Siegele-Wenschkewitz as Dr. theol. and after the vicariate in Hesse and Nassau she was Volker Leppin's assistant at the chair for church history at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena from 2001 to 2005 . In 2005 she completed her habilitation and worked as a private lecturer in Jena. Since winter semester 2005/2006 she has held the chair for Church and Dogma History at the Augustana University in Neuendettelsau. From 2012 to 2014 she was the rector of the Augustana University.

Since March 1st, 2009 she has been the first woman to serve as President of the Evangelical Union . In this office she was re-elected on October 9, 2014 for a term from 2015 to 2021.

She is active in various international academic and church bodies, such as B. in the Scientific Advisory Board of the Centro Melantone in Rome. Since 2013 she has been the chair of the scientific advisory board for evaluating the church struggle documentation in the EKHN . She is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Hessian Church History Association and the Scientific Advisory Board of the Denominational Institute . In addition, she acts as deputy chairwoman of the board of trustees of the denominational institute.
