Gustav Abel (District Administrator)

Gustav Abel (born September 9, 1869 in Friedrichshafen , † December 23, 1939 in Ravensburg ) was a Württemberg governor and district administrator.

life and work

The son of a high school professor passed the higher administrative service exams in 1895 and 1897. He began his professional career in 1897 as an employee at the General German Insurance Association in Stuttgart and in 1899 at the Weissenau sanatorium. In 1901 he joined the internal administration of Württemberg and in 1905 he became an official at the Oberamt Nürtingen and in 1907 at the Oberamt Geislingen . In 1919 he was given the management of the Oberamt Waldsee , initially as an official administrator and from 1921 as an Oberamtmann. In 1928 his service title changed to District Administrator. On March 31, 1932, he applied for an early retirement.
