Gustav Adolf Thomann

Gustav Adolf Thomann (born March 11, 1874 in Zurich ; † August 8, 1961 in Zollikon ) was a Swiss painter and graphic artist .

life and work

Thomann took design subjects at the Technikum in Winterthur and was then a student of Robert Poetzelberger at the Grand Ducal Badische Akademie Karlsruhe . In 1897 Thomann studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich , where he was a student of Heinrich von Zügel . Thomann became known for his landscape and animal paintings as well as his woodcuts .

In addition to numerous exhibitions, Thomann took part in the International Art Exhibition in the Royal Glass Palace in Munich in 1909 and in the Venice Biennale in 1926 .
