Gustav Ebe

Gustav Ebe (born November 1, 1834 in Halberstadt ; † May 15, 1916 in Berlin-Charlottenburg ) was a German architect and art historian .

Life

Gustav Ebe completed his studies at the Berlin Building Academy in 1864 with the master builder examination. He then went on trips to Italy and France with his college friend Julius Benda . After their return both worked together as private architects from 1867 and founded the company Ebe & Benda in 1869 . Ebe became a member of the architects' association in 1869 and a founding member of the Association of Berlin Architects in 1879 , of which he became deputy chairman in 1884. In 1891 the company was dissolved. In addition to the company orders, Ebe also worked alone and published numerous art historical works. Ebe had been married since 1873 and had eight sons, including the sculptor Burkhart Ebe .
