Gustav Eichhorn (physicist)
Gustav Eichhorn (born December 1, 1867 in Düsseldorf , † March 9, 1954 in Zurich ) was a German physicist and radio pioneer in Switzerland .
Life
Gustav Eichhorn came to Düsseldorf as the son of Gustav Eichhorn senior. and Sybille, née Offermann, was born. He first studied physics in Munich , then from 1899 to 1901 in Zurich, where he received his doctorate in 1901 . Eichhorn subsequently worked as a scientific advisor to Telefunken in Berlin .
From 1905 he lived again in Zurich, where in 1906 he set up a radio receiving station in his private laboratory . In 1913 the pioneer of wireless radio technology applied in vain for a license to set up a telephone time service. In the autumn of 1923, Gustav Eichhorn first demonstrated the reception of a concert over loudspeakers in his Zurich Institute for Radiotelephony .
Gustav Eichhorn, who remained unmarried, died in Zurich at the age of 86.
