Gustav Elten

Gustav Elten (born March 19, 1803 in Treptow an der Rega ; † June 14, 1891 in Bonn ) was a royal Prussian lieutenant general and most recently a brigadier of the 2nd Artillery Brigade.

His parents were the Senator von Treptow August Ferdinand Elten and his wife Anna Christiane Elisabeth Siel .

Life

He joined the Prussian Army on September 24, 1816, where he joined the 2nd Artillery Brigade. On October 28, 1820 he was assigned to Portepeefähnrich and from 1820 to 1822 to the united artillery and engineering school . On July 18, 1822, he was promoted to Premier-Lieutenant, on January 26, 1834, he came to the 1st Artillery Inspection as 2nd adjutant. On January 2, 1836, he was transferred to the 3rd Artillery Brigade as Premier-Lieutenant with a patent on August 3, 1833, but remained 2nd Adjutant. On May 4, 1841 he was appointed captain in the adjutantage. From there he came on May 2, 1844 as a company commander in the Guards Artillery Brigade. On December 18, 1847 he was transferred to the Adjutantur, where he was appointed Adjutant of the 3rd Artillery Inspection. Promoted to major on May 10, 1848, he joined the 1st Artillery Brigade on February 21, 1853 as a department commander. There he was appointed lieutenant colonel on March 2, 1853 and transferred to the 5th artillery regiment as commander on May 5, 1855. On July 12, 1855, he became a colonel and on March 11, 1858, he was commander of the 2nd Artillery Brigade. On November 22, 1858 he was promoted to major general and brigadier, and on July 28, 1859, he received the pension entitlement for his rank. On October 3, 1859, he was awarded the Red Eagle third class with bow excellent, on 1 July 1860, he was Brigadier Artillery Brigade 2. He got on October 18, 1861 the Red Eagle 2nd Class with oak leaves before the December 1, 1863 as a lieutenant general with a pension was put up for disposal . He died in Bonn on June 14, 1891.

He married on January 15, 1837 in Treptoe Mathilde Brummer (* December 27, 1814, † January 5, 1887), a daughter of the chamber councilor Karl Friedrich August Brummer .
